A trailer for "The Exorcist: Martyrs" was unveiled Friday at New York Comic Con, with Scarlett Johansson cast as someone tracking a demonic killer. The film is directed by Mike Flanagan and functions as both a continuation and a reimagining of the long-running horror franchise.

Flanagan says the project takes strong inspiration from "The Exorcist III" and describes it as the scariest thing he has ever made. He told reporters the film was meant to be genuinely threatening and that it made him wildly uncomfortable during production.
